"The Point" is a rather jaded view of the headlines of today, giving the reader the musings of a fed up mind. Sometimes funny, sometimes sober, always timely, it is my wish that you enjoy even when you might not agree.
Awakening a Sleeping Giant
Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was portrayed in the film “Tora! Tora! Tora!” (circa 1970) saying, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve", after his attack on Pearl Harbor.
It is a matter of lores and legends.
It is, from another Yamamoto saying, a matter of “kicking the sleeping rabid dog”.
I do not know if the first legend is true or partly true, the only thing I know is that it was an accurate description of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
It could also well be descriptive of the America we see today.
Has this current government gone wild awakened yet another sleeping giant, the one we call "We the People"?
I leave that up to you to decide.
