America - The Beacon of Hope to the World

Written By Greg

George Washington wrote, “I am sure that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our Revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone able to protect them.” - The writing of George Washington, by John C. Fitzpatrick, GPO, 1931 – 44. Vol 32:2

By this statement, we know that George Washington understood a truth; that God allowed a group of militias to unite to overthrow the mighty British army, whose job it was to uphold the tyrannical rule of the British Empire over the colonies.

When I read his writings, I believe that George Washington sensed the reason for God’s favor on those patriots included an important point – one that I see us moving farther away from as a nation. Namely that God had given a vision to these believing patriots to ensure that our country would be a model, a "Beacon of Hope" to the world. These patriots knew from where their strength came. They knew they were operating under the blessings and by the direction of the One who could lead them from tyranny to liberty. The Constitution of the United States of America is, among other things, a testimony to this reality.

George Washington knew that it would take the American people working together to uphold the principles of our country that are manifested by the United States Constitution. The principles are the reason that he and so many others had sacrificed their comfort, security, health, and ultimately for many, their lives. He knew that winning our independence was nothing short of a miracle, and that our “experiment” as a republic with a distributed form of government led by the people would fail if we failed to remember what would make it succeed – to continue to be the Beacon of Hope – One Nation, Under God.

Our Statue of Liberty declares to the world, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Lady Liberty is a symbol of our own freedom from tyranny and is a symbol of hope the rest of the world. However, a statue with words, or a government making new laws will not endow the American People or the immigrants who have entered her shores with the strength to uphold such lofty ideals. We are a free people, endowed by our Creator to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and we are given a heady responsibility to care for our fellow man while ensuring the continuation of the Republic. Without God, freedom becomes impossible to maintain. It is when the American people remember that those words etched on Lady Liberty by human hands, has a deeper meaning when we believe in our God and His offer - “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest”.

How far have we strayed from these truths? Our elected leaders apologize to the Leaders of these "huddled masses" for what our country has done. Our leaders, elected and unelected are taking significant steps to give up our hard fought sovereignty to be part of a global central government, a one world order, whose goal it is to usurp the moniker "beacon of hope". Our President is trying to convince other nations who have watched the true Beacon of Hope become the leader of the free world through these 200 years that we are no longer a Christian nation.

Of course, these leaders are not the first Americans who deny that it was and continues to be the blessings of our Creator that has allowed the miracle of our nation to occur. These are simply the first leaders to be in a position of power, and to the have benefit of a global stage, enabled by technology and own the media to such an extent that they can get away with making these proclamations. These are the first leaders of the free world to have the ability to take advantage of the momentum and traction of an emerging, powerful global central government whose viability has been enhanced by a global financial crisis not seen since the Great Depression.

It is up to the American people to remember what has allowed us to be the leader of the free world. We need to remember why we are the nation with more immigrants every year than any other nation – it is because we are the Beacon of Hope.

Those of us that understand these truths need to remind our family, friends and neighbors that are old enough to remember the time when we prayed the Lord’s Prayer and pledged our allegiance to our flag every morning at school. We need to take the time to explain to the under 40 set that we did this every morning of every school day so the American people would never forget why we are blessed to live in the greatest nation the earth has ever known.

If we know the truth, the truth shall make us free. If we speak the truth in love, our numbers will increase. If the numbers increase a grass roots force will exist who know these truths, remember them every day, and share them whenever possible. Then and only then will we have listened to the advice given by the father of our great nation and we will be obedient to our Heavenly Father. Then and only then will we prevail and be able to stop the momentum being caused by those who are making sure they "do not allow a serious crisis go to waste".

There is Meaning Behind Those Words

Last night, in hearing the replay of Obama saying, "We have to approach this with a "sense of responsiblity" for the thousandth time, the meaning cuffed me upside the head in such a way as to warrant whiplash.

He never said he would act with responsibility, only that he would approach with a sense of responsibility! Oh! I get it now! I might "sense" a bad smell, but it doesn't mean I will choose (or in this instance be able) to escape from that bad smell! A sense doesn't cause action, it only warns of the need to take action, but can be ignored. Much like the eyes seeing a grusome accident on the side of the road, our eyes tell our brain "Ooh, gory stuff, don't look" and we then choose to gawk anyway and are rewarded with nightmares for our disobedience to our senses. Much like we are being rewarded now with President Obama's sense.

As a result of this massive lightening bolt that hit me last night, I have developed a new sense which spikes my fuzzy meaning meter.

Here, in the following droll interview of Couric with Geithner, we hear another one of those statements as Geithner speaks about the fact that the beatings will continue until morale improves. Listen closely to his diatribe and I will tell you afterwards what you might have missed. It will help you develop your fuzzy meter sense as well.

Okay. Are you ready for the fuzzy meter spike? (Note: The fuzzy meter is besides the obviously self-serving statements of "new commitments" and "strongest *cough* standards of transparency" in the 9.6 trillion committed in the last two months/two weeks time.) When speaking about the "attacks" on his ability, at exactly the 2:32 minutes mark, Geither said, 'When I took this job I knew I would face enormous challenges'....."for the enormous damage caused by the people who took too much risk...".

To which "people" do you suppose Geithner was referring? My newly developed sense says it was we the people who bought the homes at the peak of the market with ACORN forced bad loaning policies are those to which he refers. To hear Geithner say it, it was decidedly not the unregulated, naked short selling, no uptick rule, mark to market accounting ruled, international obscenely diabolical set (who repackaged mortgages, sold insurance in the form of CDS's that were not regulated as insurances and who resold them again and again) crooks until there was no more market able to bear the risk.

See, we didn't sell our mortgages, they did. We didn't keep driving up the price of oil in shorting activities so we could pocket loads of money from every American, they did, grabbing two or three hundred bucks of cash flow out of the pockets of Americans every single month. The question to ask is who got the money then and who is getting the bailouts now?

Awakening the Sleeping Giant

Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was portrayed in the film “Tora! Tora! Tora!” (circa 1970) as saying, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." after his attack on Pearl Harbor.

It is a matter of lore’s and legends. It is, from another Yamamoto saying, a matter of “kicking the sleeping rabid dog”.

I do not know if the first legend is true or partly true, the only thing I know is that it was an accurate description of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

It could also well be descriptive of the America we see today.

March 2008, we were a pretty happy crew here in America. We believed in our country. We did our jobs and [mostly] trusted our elected officials and bank officials to do theirs.

We saw the election gearing up but weren’t yet in the frame of mind to pay much attention. We were busy working and planning our summer vacations. We were enjoying the fact that we were seeing our nest eggs grow to along with the DOW to the 14,000 mark. More importantly, we felt safe again, safe to fly, safe from terrorism and safe in our homes.

We didn’t know a thing about CDO’s or CDS’s or the coming market crash. We didn’t understand Mark to Market accounting rules. We had a real life to live. We didn’t understand the army of volunteers that were being commissioned through ACORN.

We didn’t much like our gas prices or our housing starts slow-downs or our declining values in the housing markets, but we didn’t see what all that meant. No one was sounding alarm bells. We weren’t being told much.

We slept well at night.

Today, one short year later we have gone through some estimate a total of 20 Trillion Dollars in bailouts and promised bailouts. As a whole, this nation has lost $18 Trillion with a "T" worth of PERSONAL wealth.

We are facing the largest budget ever sent to Congress by the new President Obama – some say more than all past President’s combined! This weekend Obama placed 1,000,000 feet on the street to get signatures for petitions on that very same monstrosity he calls a budget, in the continuing campaign saga that has become Obama’s legacy. The Obama Forum has morphed into Obama 2.0. 2.0 is now being funded through our tax dollars, which are going through groups like ACORN to help him continue to beat his drum. He is raising money and he is making it work for him.

We are seeing bills that chip away at our Constitution being passed at an alarming rate. We are being threatened with being conscripted into a National Service Organization. Our Census has been taken AWAY from the Dept. of Commerce and put into the hands of the White House and one Rahm Emmanuel Chief of Staff. Our 401k’s are now better defined as 201k’s. The government doesn’t seem to care what we have to say on any matter as they rush through bill after bill without reading a single line.

Meanwhile, our tax bills are set to rise exponentially with a purported $168,000 additional debt to our government for each person in the USA. Per person is not to be confused with per WORKING person, it is every man, woman and child.

We felt lost. We felt alone. We marveled at the rock star status of this new President. We dealt with a “Get in their face” mentality from the left and an onslaught of media flagellation such as has never been seen before - during and after the campaign - it never ends.

Conservatives realized what Obama’s true message was really saying back about July or August. The left never got it, or if they did, they really wanted it, which is even more stunning.

Suddenly the group that houses mainly conservative pacifists find ourselves swiftly changing gears to become activist. A groundswell of various groups are popping up all over, Tea Parties, We Surround Them groups, even old school groups like CATO and The Heritage Foundation are gaining huge new momentum.

The media won’t cover us, but we are becoming our own media, learning to navigate the once spooky waters of the internet and to collaborate with other groups like Grassfire.org’s www.resistnet.com.

We are aiming for 2,000,000,000 feet on the street through Tea Party Demonstrations, word of mouth, Facebook and other group sites like Meetup and the Ning’s social networks. We are organizing seminars, training, education, and book clubs. We have Congressional Watch groups, are sending millions of emails, calling a thousand times, writing letters and faxes. We are learning to blog and twitter, and we are peppering the online publication articles through their comment sections with our opinions and good old common sense.

We are learning a bravery and courage we didn’t know we possessed on the ashes of the political graveyard of our great country.

From my little corner of the world, it appears that Obama has awakened that sleeping giant. He has kicked that proverbial sleeping rabid dog.

It is up to each one of us to make sure that this administration, this legislature and even this judicial system begins to understand that we truly are serious. We are mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it anymore. BTW, did you know that 1 phone is counted as 13,000 calls when you call your representatives. Your one little phone call suddenly became quite powerful!

It would be interesting to find out how many opinions or votes are changed by that one letter or fax....

To that end, my new blog ‘The Point’ is to remind us we do count. Some might be long blogs, some might be pithy, some even funny. I hope you will however read them and contribute to them. I want nothing more than to offer a place for us all to enjoy, to commiserate, to unite, and to destroy what this current government is doing to our country. I want to never give up and to never let up on them – equaling our ferocity to their ferocity of not letting up on us, not giving us a breather. This is musings from a fed up mind, pure and unadulterated. I hope you join me!

And by the way....This crisis Mr.’s Obama and Emmanuel is NOT your opportunity to destroy this country! Do to me what you may, Mr. Socialist Man, but I will NOT shut up. You kicked this rapid dog, now deal with it.
